Crystal is a Personality AI startup that uses DISC personality assessments and predictions to provide insights into sales, hiring, and training processes. Every candidate, client, or coworker has a profile that showcases an overview of their type, traits, and quick tips for how to best communicate with them.

‍THE PROBLEM‍
‍The user was not able to differentiate between profiles to notice the specific content for their type. The long list of insights, though helpful, created too much to digest and an endless scroll. With so much information the user had a difficult time understanding the value of the modules of insights. Also there were very few options to share the content and encourage the communication we are seeking to facilitate.

‍SOLUTION 1
‍‍First I, as the sole designer on the team, created individual colors for DISC type to minimize confusion and emphasis the uniqueness of each type. This also allowed the brand color palette to expand and introduce vibrancy in their designs. The increased variety made the personality map easier to read and glean information. I also incorporated their DISC color throughout the profile in headers, icons, and text to emphasize their unique personality type.

‍SOLUTION 2
To stop the endless scrolling, I added a sticky side menu with drop-downs to bring the user to exactly where they want to be. The icons distinguish each link, with the white highlight showing the user exactly where they are on the page. The smaller grey icons don’t pull focus, but let the user share their new insights wherever they are on the page.

‍SOLUTION 3
I created tool tips to showcase unique content summarizing what they are learning and help distill the complex data set they are trying to absorb. I also wanted to enforce their DISC type color, which helps differentiate when comparing to coworkers or different personality types.

FINAL DESIGN
By combining these individual solutions, the final product is a profile page that is more personalized and easier to navigate and gleam important information.
